On March 19th, 2018, the new Intermodal Hub of the Trieste Airport was inaugurated. The project aimed at upgrading and relaunching the Airport that, thanks to new connections with the railway station, is set to become the new mobility axis of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
A new train stop, a multi-storey covered car park, a bus station, an elevated pedestrian walkway, passenger information displays, ticket offices, electric car charging points and a connection to the Alpe Adea cycle route. These are the main innovations of the Intermodal Center, flagship of national transport, that shapes the mobility of the future: integrated, sustainable, and social.
A strategic infrastructure built in just over a year, thanks to the intervention of several contracting companies, including Fida, that dealt with the supply and installation of the Lighting System and the Remote Control System, as well as the installation of the Electrical System, for lift and escalators and all the infrastructure of the PID (Public Information Displays) for the management of monitors and loudspeakers.
